Birthday Boy Brennie!

Little boy Brennie is officially six years old! Seems old! :) He now completely and totally understands what a birthday is and all the spoiling that comes with it. He received several gifts in the mail the days before his birthday and he was putting in his requests for his cake all week. He got to choose what we did for dinner on his actual birthday and on Saturday he had a few friends over to play.

Picking the cake proved to be a challenge. He changed his mind over and over and over....and I wasn't thrilled about any of his choices. BUT, it is his birthday and I just couldn't have slept well at night knowing I manipulated him to choose the theme I wanted when he really wanted something different...if you know what I mean. So he chose "Transformers" and I had to get quite clever about how to make a Transformers cake. I decided to go with fondant....which didn't set that well but still turned out and went a lot faster than if I had "star tipped" an entire cake.

Sixth birthday was a success. He is very proud to be a six year old. It's so cute. Wyatt's birthday is coming up soon thankfully. He was a great sport while Brendan got all the attention, but my heart hurt for him a little and I couldn't help wanting to give him presents too. All in good time. I think he enjoyed Brendan's birthday about as much as Brendan did.
