This just had to be written down. Brendan had a journaling assignment today. I gave him 20 mins to work on it after he said he was done after 1 sentence.
Also, side note, it is so weird to me to have such a good reader who is such a horrible speller. The kid is the worst speller, even though he has been reading these same words since he was 4! Just goes to show you that reading is so much more than de-coding words!
Here's Brendan's journaling assignment from today: (spelling corrected!)
written by Brendan: I am feeling happy. Yesterday I did soccer practice, and I tried to write a book. Today I am going to read the Bible. When I am a grown-up I'm going to get a job. I am going to get the same job as my Dad. I am going to help dead people get to the hospital.
It just cracks me up!

LOL! They say such funny things! Miles is a great reader but ask him to spell dog and it looks lie dag, or dug. He never gets the vowels right. I can't understand how he even reads! Hopefully our spelling program will help because I have no idea how to teach him spelling!
That cracks me up!!! Thank you for posting this today I needed a good laugh. How cute!!
I would have enjoyed seeing the first draft with all of the errors! So funny. He has lots of time to improve. Great Aunt Marshmellow
Thanks for the laugh!!! That Brendan is a character!
I think of you all often as I drive by your former PA home ... praying for you!
Your Kids quotes always make me laugh out loud!

oh brother
Oh dang. That is funny. So is your Dad's comment(s). :)
How funny! I've always been a good reader but am a horrific speller. Jim's a really slow reader but can spell anything. Gotta' love the human brain!
Trying this on another day, just to see if I can. ha ha. Let me know if it works. And I did write it down this time. So all should be well. Dad
