It's that time of year again! The time of the year where the aroma of rotting salmon flesh can be smelled just about anywhere. The joys of living near water that is connected to the ocean. The life cycle of a chum salmon is quite incredible and there are lots of places around us where you can peer into the water ways and see the fish swimming upstream, working their way back to the shallow streams where they were born to repeat the cycle. We visited the Kennedy Creek Salmon Walk which opens this time of year for visitors to walk the trails along the creek and see the salmon spawning beds in action.

Fall Walk
Clearly I am out of picture taking blog practice. I went on a little fall walk with Easton and Annabel while the big boys did some laundry. They both looked at me as if they had never seen my camera before. I would have gotten more character out of them if I had whipped out my phone, I'm convinced of it. But nevertheless, I took some pictures, and I got them on my computer and here I am...documenting my fall walk with Easton and Annabel in some of that spectacular fall weather we enjoy here in the PNW.
No clue what a camera is
What? Doesn't everybody eat pancakes and read books when they go for walks?
Again, no idea what that camera thing is all about

At the Fountains
Downtown Oly has these great fountains. It's not your ordinary "splash pad". These suckers shoot up with some serious force. It is for this reason, I believe, that only Brendan and Wyatt are soaking wet. Easton and Annabel timidly avoided being blasted by these crazy things!

At the Rodeo
Sadly we sat in the wrong seats. We were too far away from the action and the sun was in our eyes. But we still had fun. The big boys participated in the boot race (they take one of your shoes, make you turn around, then they scatter all the shoes and you race to find your shoe, get it on, and make it back to the fence).
The fair was sad as far as fairs go. I hate to bash on Shelton because I love it, but this was a lame fair.
When we had all had enough of the cowboys we left and all the boys rode the giant slide 3 times and then we made our way home.
Rodeo. Check!

I love my Aunt's perspective: "Hair is a great way to be adventurous. It always grows back!"
