Baseball::Opening Day 2014

Once again...I have some catch up work to do.
Let's start with baseball, shall we?

Opening day was a week (or so ago) on April 12th. Easton has decided he isn't playing this year (fine with us) and they bumped Wyatt up into the same level as Brendan (Hallelujah!). Wow! Baseball feels so much easier this year with both boys on the same team. They are playing Minors on the Detroit Tigers team (10-11 year olds). They had a great opening day (big win) and another big win their next game that week. Fun times ahead!

You can see the Wagner cheering squad out there in the outfield.

From the Last Month

Blogging seems so simple until you actually have to sit down and do it! It has been a busy month with plenty to blog about, but the task has gotten even more daunting as the pictures and posts start to pile up.

Let's just turn this into a summary of the last month.

Work for me is the same. Good. Slowly growing.

Work for Rand is the same. Stressful, busy, stressful and more busy.

Last month marked the beginning of baseball! On February 22nd we had baseball try-outs. Easton said he wanted to play so we were anticipating a t-baller, and then Brendan and Wyatt both playing at the same levels they played last year. 3 teams. I thought it could possibly break me, but we were willing to give it a go! Brendan's coach from last year recruited him to play on his team again this year and then they decided to draft Wyatt up to the Minor League level and so Brendan and Wyatt are playing on the same team! Hallelujah!! After Easton's first practice he decided playing baseball in front of an audience and other strangers was not his idea of fun, so we pulled him. We weren't surprised and we weren't even bummed. Baseball this year is going to be a piece of cake! One team and no babies!

Amidst the craziness of 2 businesses and 4 kids, Rand and I managed to get away for a few hours one Saturday afternoon and took the Hood Canal Bottomless Champagne Sunset Cruise. It was pretty fun. It was cloudy and grey but calm and beautiful anyway.

Annnd, We're Done!

Just a quick one to celebrate the official end of baseball! It was fun. It was crazy. It is over!

Brendan and Wyatt's teams both made it all the way through the tournament to the last game. Wyatt's team lost their last game. Brendan's team won and became the District Champions for the Minors. After closing ceremonies, Wyatt played the AAA All-Star Game and his team (Blue) won!

Fun times!

My Favorite Neighbors And Still Baseball

My favorite neighbors are back again, just like last summer. Rachel, Royal, Jayden and Willow rolled in from Kansas with their truck and trailer on Sunday. We have been counting down the days for the past 75 days. All day Sunday, Brendan and Wyatt about drove me insane with their excitement. They rode their bikes down to the mail boxes to "escort" the crew to our house and then the 3 boys reunited in a jump-yell-hug. Easton and Willow stared at each other and then Easton "died".

Royal is flying back to Kansas today and Rachel and the kids get to be my neighbors for the next few weeks. I could use the extra set of hands right now!

And as for baseball....
We are still playing baseball. The double-elimination tournament is happening right now. They both lost their first games and then they both won their second games. I think it will all come to an end on Saturday after Wyatt's All-Star game. Brendan's level doesn't do "all-stars" per se. You apply and then get chosen to be a part of the Tournament of Champions and it takes place post-season. We decided to be done! ...maybe Fall Ball??

And now for a picture overdose (mostly taken with my phone, so sorry about the quality).

Blackberries (the little ones) almost ripe right outside the trailer door!

Easton LOVES hanging out in the trailer

"hey kids, quit watching TV and look at me"
Rach and I left Royal with all 6 kids while we went to COSTCO. This was happening when we came home!

We ran out of band-aids on the first day.

She likes hanging out in the trailer, too
