Out My Window And Into My Head

There are three outside walls in my kitchen (with no insulation, I'm sure) and the walls are half covered in tile. It is by far the coldest room in the house, even though there is a gigantore radiator in there AND an oven. Cooking does help, but in the morning it is probably a good 5 degrees colder than the rest of the house. There is great light in there, but it is freezing!
Anyway, I usually take my first sip of coffee looking out one of my kitchen windows. Here is the huge walnut tree that I look at. I think it looks beautiful with all its leaves off, with every big and little branch visible.

The funny thing about my little ritual of staring at this tree is that I have the very same conversation in my head.....like almost every day. I look at the tree and think. "Wow, that tree is so big. And it is such a great shape. It looks good, even with its leaves off." And then I always look up to the same spot and say, "What is that? It looks just like Kermit the Frog! My dad would think that is so funny."
Seriously, there is something in that tree and it looks exactly like Kermit the Frog, sitting on the branch with his skinny, scrawny legs dangling down. And for some reason it totally cracks me up and I imagine my dad and I standing there giggling about it over fresh, pressed coffee. I pointed it out to Rand after staring at this thing for weeks and he saw it, but it just wasn't the same as if my dad had been here (I don't expect everyone to giggle over the same things as me). So, not knowing if he will ever get out here to see it, either before the leaves grow back or a storm blows whatever it is out of the tree (I'm thinking it must be leaves and branches or something that just got wedged), I thought I'd post it so you all can crack up about my little Kermit friend, too.

See him up there just hanging out? Probably singing a little tune or something. Funny thing is, I woke up with The Rainbow Connection totally stuck in my head.
**Update** If you click on that last picture, you can see it is just branches. In fact, up close, it doesn't look anything like Kermit the Frog. But from my kitchen window, I think I will always see Kermit. I can't help it. It's just how my mind works.

I see it too. But to me, it's a little alien, hanging there with big antennas. Probably spying on you Kaylee. Beware.

HAHAHA! I totally see him too! And I am such a fan of bare trees! They are so beautiful. We decorated one of ours with white lights and then it showed on it! SO pretty!!
I miss you too Kaylee. Your little men look so cute and are growing so fast. (i'd say that Rand is so cute too, but...shrug)Nice matching pj's!

I see fish everywhere I go, I like it, it gives me the energy to go on when I know I will not see a proper fish for along time.
