Walking in the Desert

Yesterday we went for a fun walk in the desert. There are lots of interesting things to find and see out in the desert of Arizona. This is the perfect time of year for it, too. Perfect temperature and lots of green. It is so different from anything I grew up seeing in "nature" where I grew up. The place my parents have their RV parked is kind of out on the outskirts and there are fun places for the kids to explore (carefully, mind you).
If I had to sum up the desert in one word I wouldn't use the word "dry" as you might suspect. I would use the word, "sharp". Thorns and pokes on almost everything.

Not something you would want to step on with bare feet!

This tree was an awesome find! Totally smooth like driftwood.

See? Green!

My parent's pups.

Quite a bit different than jaunts around Valley Forge Park, huh? Thought of you yesterday morning, missing our camaraderie.

I want to see some more pictures of you before you pop. What's the countdown now? Looking forward to when we can have an official countdown. We're still waiting for one more document.

I see you couldn't find a fishing spot.
