The Simpler Skirt Pattern

Today I whipped up the simpler skirt. Looked around online and couldn't really find what I was looking for. Saw an idea and basically made my own little pattern. Elastic waist, no lining, no zippers. Easy. And much quicker. I used fabric that wouldn't bother me too much if I hated it, but turns out I really like it! The fabric was given to me by a friend who found it at a yard sale, maybe?? She thought I could use it for something and until now it has just decorated my shelves. Check this out:

This totally makes me feel like The Sound of Music. Doesn't it look like old drapes?? Soon I will be running through the grassy hills in my new skirt, barefoot and singing songs about birds and stuff. :) I love it!

Now that song will be stuck in my head for the rest of the night.

Super cute. I picture a tank, blue beads, the skirt and flip flops. You look so cute in my head.

I don't have a cute new skirt (and it probably wouldn't fit anyhow!) But I'd be happy to run through the fields singing with you and the kiddos! :) Audrey would love it!

I really like that fabric!!! You did a great job! I have wanted to learn to sew for a long time, but I just don't have the time.
