Brendan: Author and Artist

Brendan and Wyatt still draw pictures like there is no tomorrow. I have stacks. Every once in a while I have to go through the stacks and throw away recycle most of it. Well I ran across this book that Brendan wrote several months ago. I love this book! I plan on keeping it forever.

I'll let the pictures do the talking (my scanner isn't working, so I had to take pictures of the pictures).

The Shooting Plant
by Brendan M. Wagner

One time there was a shooting plant. A boy came.

Then the boy came to the plant. He was going to touch the plant.

But before he could touch it, it shot him.
Then the cops came to help. They picked off the pokes one by one.

Illustration close up! Cop (notice the "C" on his cap) running with twizzers to the rescue!
Cop picking off all the pokes one by one!

Now the boy felt much better. The boy learned a lesson.

Jayden and I just read the story together. I loved it! I especially liked the picture of the cop running with tweezers!
Jayden : "HA! That was good!"

i remember the day he wrote that book....we had taken a walk in the desert and then went back to the motorhome....we were always very careful to stay away from the cactus that would "shoot" it's spines if you walked too close....we weren't sure which one would shoot but knew cacti had the capability....so we were usually very very careful. i hope there are more walks in the desert with little boys in our future

Tony and I had a good laugh out of that story... he is so adorable. The imaginations of kids are quite inquisitive at times!

I really love how you show us just about everything they do and say. So funny :)

I hope he writes a story about fishing after our fishing adventure.
